After receiving his degree in Real Estate Finance from San Diego State University in 1996, Mr. Kurtz started his career in investment real estate. Jason spent the next 15 years buying multifamily units across the country. He started in acquisitions for a privately-owned Apartment syndicator called Granite Investment Group located in Irvine Ca. Jason purchased over Five thousand mutli-family units for this firm. His roles and responsibilities at Granite were, deal origination, all due diligence, market research, Debt and equity procurement, underwriting and investor relationships. After 5 years with Granite, Jason was asked and became the Director of Acquisitions for the Bethany Group. Over the next 4.5 years Jason would take his skills he honed at Granite and would be in charge and responsible for all facets of the acquisitions of over twenty-two thousand apartments. These 67 buildings would be purchased from large REITS in over 15 states across the rust belt. His roles would include raising over 400m in equity, procuring over 1.6 billion in First Trust deed financing and structuring and negotiating 450 million in Mezzanine Financing.

Since 2010 Mr. Kurtz has been building on this track record and branched out into Hospitality. Both in hotel acquisitions and franchise development. This Is also when Jason started spending time in the Non- Preforming Note Space. Over the next ten years Jason would purchase notes for his own account, and for high-net-worth investors. He has spent significant time in loss mitigation, servicing, analytics, acquisitions, dispositions, and trading of Nonperforming notes and been involved in the purchase over 300mm in notes.

Today, Mr. Kurtz (Owner/Broker of Southern Legacy Group) is using his 26 years of acquired skills and experience in all facets of real estate helping Homeowners and Investors alike to find their dream homes or required returns.
